He has over 30 years of specialized experience in accounting for exempt organizations and private foundations, as well as closely-held businesses and financial services entities. He is a regular speaker on accounting, tax and governance matters, and has authored numerous articles for industry publications.
Michael Fontanello, CPA
Fontanello, Duffield & Otake, LLP
Michael Fontanello, CPA, has been involved with nonprofit organizations throughout his career. Before founding Fontanello, Duffield & Otake, LLP, he was a partner in charge of the nonprofit sector practice at a San Francisco CPA firm. An adjunct lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, he also participated on a panel for Independent Sector which proposed the new Form 990-PF at the request of the Senate Finance Committee. Michael is a member of the California Bar Association as a non-attorney specializing in the nonprofit sector.
