ICoF Member COVID-19 Response and Public Policy Call
May 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pmFree
The Iowa Council of Foundations invites all members to join us for a virtual conversation to discuss ongoing needs and pandemic response efforts, as well as updates from public policy partners following the close of the 2021 State of Iowa Legislative Session. Our confirmed speakers include:
- Drew Conrad, Director, Institute for Decision Making at the University of Northern Iowa — Drew and his team conducted the third Iowa Economic Development Authority Business Survey in March. The survey was a statewide census of how micro to major businesses are being impacted by COVID-19, including nonprofits. Drew will join us to share information about the 750+ nonprofit responses they received and we will discuss how this information can be used to inform your work.
- Dawn Oliver Wiand, Executive Director, Iowa Women’s Foundation — Dawn will provide an update about state/federal child care funding and legislation and her involvement in the Governor’s new Child Care Task Force. She will also provide some thoughts about how our funders can support ongoing child care needs in their community.
- Becky Miles-Polka, Within Reach Consulting — Becky will provide an update about the Care Constellation and their open call for proposals.
There will also be time for open conversations for members to share about their ongoing pandemic response efforts and priorities as we move into the spring and summer months. A member has already requested that we discuss ongoing food insecurity issues and community strategies. Please submit any questions or specific topics you would like to discuss (or share!) with your registration form.
